SKILLS PROGRAM

     

 

 

                                                                                                    

The key to obtaining consistent quality performance from line officers is the leadership and supervision skills of the front-line supervisors. Designed to stimulate and challenge basic assumptions regarding police supervision, this course promotes communication skills to produce direct, desirable results. Other significant course elements include learning to work with the values system of the ³modern employee² and the diversified workforce, examining supervisory failure and success regarding the organizationıs objectives, learning concepts and strategies for monitoring officer procedures and performance, and increasing productivity.

 

·      At the end of this program, supervisors will be able to:

·      Identify and understand personal strengths and weaknesses as they relate to communication, empowerment, initiative, decision making and authority

·      Identify specific steps in coaching for excellence

·      Use recognition and appreciation effectively

·      Demonstrate effective supervisory behavior for all subordinates
