BASIC TACTICAL OPERATORS COURSE

October 5th - October 11th, 2008

West Jordan SWAT and Utah Department of Public Safety SERT will be conducting an 80-hour basic operator course. This is a seven-day school that covers basic operator fundamentals and principles. This course may be utilized as a prerequisite for SWAT. The class is limited to 40 law enforcement personnel. The course will be physically and mentally demanding, participants should come prepared accordingly. Operators will receive a certificate of completion for meeting the require standards.

Participants will check in at West Jordan Justice Center located at 8040 South Redwood Road, West Jordan City, Utah. Participants will check in no later than 1800 hours on October 05th, 2008. Two forms of picture ID must be brought to first day of training for access to military installations.

Meals will be provided beginning breakfast on Monday the 6th of October 2008.Course concludes at approximately 19:00 on Saturday October 11th, 2008.



Lodging will be provided and mandatory for officers attending this course. Bring your own bedding materials and toiletries. Shower and laundry facilities will be available.

* NFD Qualification

* Open Field Tactics (Formations)

* Rapid Response/Equipment familiarization

* Tubular Assaults/Vehicle Assaults

* Breaching Techniques (Mechanical & Explosive)

* Team Movement Principles

* Chemical Munitions Deployment & Chamber Certification

* Command & Control/ Hand & Arm Signals

* Containment/Perimeter

* Downed Officer/Citizen Rescues

* Search Warrant/Barricaded Subjects/Hostage Rescue
