- Logan City Police Officer Edwin L. "Ted"
Edwards, 26, died Aug. 27, 1959, in an automobile accident. Edwards and
Cache County Deputy Sheriff Alma P. Sorensen,
54, were transporting four juveniles to the industrial school in Ogden.
The accident occurred on Highway 91, seven miles northwest of Ogden, when
one of the juveniles attempted to grab Sorenson's gun. Sorenson lost control
of the patrol car and collided headon with another vehicle. Both officers
and two of the juveniles were killed.
