- Tooele CO SO Deputy Sgt. Lauren E. Dow, 27, lost his life Aug. 26, 1975, from burns received while fighting a brush fire east of Stockton. Dow and Tooele City Animal Control Officer Danny James, 19, were driving a fire vehicle near the 300 acre blaze when winds pushed the flames in their direction. Both men were overcome and later died of their injuries in separate hospitals.
