West Jordan Police Officer Thomas M. Rees,
32, died Feb. 23, 1986, two hours after he was struck by a bullet fired
accidentally by another officer during a training exercise. Rees and another
officer were demonstrating techniques used to prevent suspects from taking
officers' weapons away from them.
