
Harold William Clark, age 94, much loved and respected husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather and brother, passed from this life on Thursday, October 16, 1997 in Salt Lake City of causes incident to age. He was the third oldest of nine children born to Ada Sarah Sanford and Lorenzo Wagstaff Clark on December 20, 1902 in Salt Lake City, Utah. He married Elvira Moline Lindsay in the Salt Lake LDS Temple, January 26, 1926. He served faithfully in many church callings and had a strong testimony of the gospel of Jesus Christ. Harold was a member of the Salt Lake City Police Department from February 1927 to December 1967, retiring with the rank of Lieutenant. In 1971 he became a dispatcher for a temporary labor agency, Cencor, and retired from there in 1983. His interests were his family, gardening, fishing and hunting. He sang with the Salt Lake Police Glee Club and ward choirs. He loved to sing his own vocal arrangements for birthdays and other special occasions. He is survived by his wife, "Mollie"; son, Sharon Lindsay Clark (Joyce); daughter-in-law, Maurine; and daughter, Nancy Lindsay Clark Sutton (H. Arthur); also a sister, Annie Clark Searle and brothers, Newell S. Clark and Arthur King Clark; 15 grandchildren, 37 great-grandchildren and seven great-great-grandchildren. Preceded in death by son, Percy Lindsay Clark and a grandson, Timothy Murray Clark. His life was a great example of unselfish service. Harold leaves a legacy of love and devotion for his family, church and country. |
